HEALTH
No shots are required to enter Costa Rica. Be sure to bring sunscreen and re-apply often. It is also a good idea for guests to drink 2-3 times the amount of water they normally would just to stay hydrated Note: health precautions are offered here as an informational service only. See your doctor or health clinic. Should you travel Costa Rica to Panama then certain shots might be required for entry into Panama.
WEATHER
Typical daytime temperatures are 90-95 degrees Fahrenheit. At night, temperatures can drop into the 70s, but are generally very comfortable. Downpours can occur even in the rainy season, but due to the temperature we do not recommend any heavy rain gear.
PACKING
We recommend wearing long sleeve SPF 50 type clothing during the daytime temperatures are Upper 80s to Mid 90-95 degrees Fahrenheit. At night, temperatures can drop into the 70s, but are generally very comfortable. Downpours can occur even in the rainy season, but due to the temperature we do not recommend any heavy rain gear but light weight packable windbreakers are encouraged.
Durable shoes like Keens with closed toe are recommended, some of the roads are not paved and nothing worse than catching a toe nail on a rock or open deck lid or something seemingly little can impact your trip, so be intelligent in your choose of footwear.
